Tom Thumb [Blu-ray] [US]

Step into a spectacular world where toys spring vividly to life, shoes dance with joy, and the biggest adventures come in the smallest packages! In his feature-length directorial debut, legendary special effects trailblazer George Pal brings the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale of tom thumb to the screen in a dazzling blend of live-action and Oscar-winning "Puppetoon" stop-motion animation. Russ Tamblyn stars as the energetic, five-and-a-half inch-tall hero, displaying the breathless, gravity-defying gymnastics and dance talents that made him an iconic screen favorite. When the tiny but fiercely brave tom thumb is targeted by a pair of bumbling, blackhearted thieves—played with gleeful comic villainy by Terry-Thomas and Peter Sellers—he must use every inch of his wits to save his honest woodcutter parents and protect the village treasury. Highlighted by five delightful musical numbers (including songs composed by Peggy Lee) and featuring Alan Young and June Thorburn, this charming fantasy classic remains an audience favorite, now better than ever before on Blu-ray!
