The Man Who Would Be King [4K UHD] [US]

Based on the beloved novella by Rudyard Kipling, legendary director John Huston fulfilled a 20-year—dream to helm this late-career masterpiece. The Man Who Would Be King earns its crown as a splendid triumph of cinematic storytelling. Academy Award winners Sean Connery and Michael Caine star as Daniel Dravot and Peachy Carnehan, two rogue, opportunistic former British Army sergeants charting a course through 1880's India. Concluding that the British Empire was built by men like themselves, they travel through the unmapped territories of the Khyber Pass into remote Kafiristan with the intention to conquer warring tribes and install themselves as wealthy kings. Through tactical ingenuity and pure, astonishing luck, Dravot is mistakenly hailed by the high priests as a god and a direct descendant of Alexander the Great. But as the duo gain wealth, temptation and a passion for a beautiful local princess (Shakira Caine) threaten to expose their mortal vulnerabilities, sparking a violent, tragic uprising.

Nominated for four Academy Awards and featuring Christopher Plummer as Kipling himself, this sweeping, satirical, and delightful cinematic adventure remains a favorite of audiences and critics alike more than 50 years after its debut.
